In these workshops, we will work from your favorite photograph of your loved one, which is the only thing you will need to bring. Paint the one you loved and still love. You will learn tips and tools of the masters. We will teach you step-by-step every step of the way.
Learn about under-painting, color mixing, how to draw features and proportions, what tools to draw with, solvent mixing, negative and positive space, background painting, and capturing your loved one's personality.
Work in a relaxed setting with ample time to share stories of your loved one and work through the further trauma inflicted on you by strangers, family members, friends, and acquaintances who have not experienced true grief.
We will talk and write about our love and loss each day after painting. We have prompts to guide us. The portrait you create of your loved one will bring you comfort each day for the rest of your life, guaranteed.
This workshop will be different from any you have ever been to before. You will be seated, not standing. We will not paint from life with a live model. Our subject matter will be the one who mattered to each of us.
You will not be required to watch a painting tutorial first, which may be the instructor painting while you are silently watching, which may serve to intimidate and confuse participants. They will paint the portrait at the same time you are painting yours.
We will be where you can watch us paint and talk and provide individual guidance for each student. We can't wait to see what you create!
